Bruce Marchiano

Bruce Marchiano is an actor, producer/director, author, and ministry director best known for his actor’s portrayal of Jesus
in The Visual Bible—The Gospel of Matthew; the Pure Flix hit, The Encounter; and the pro-life film, Alison’s Choice.
A 40-year veteran of the film industry, Marchiano began his acting career in 80’s network television with guest roles on
classic shows such as Murder She Wrote, Columbo, L.A. Law, Hardball, Days of Our Lives… to name a few.
In 1989 Bruce gave his life to Jesus, and as he phrases it, “The Lord began re-writing my everything,” ultimately leading to
1993 when he was cast to portray Jesus in The Gospel of Matthew—regarded by many as one of the most landmark
Jesus films of all time.
On the heels of Matthew, Bruce turned his focus to Christian films and ministry. As a result, his credits are too many to list
(IMDB link below), most popularly the Pure Flix film and spin-off series, The Encounter. Over the years Marchiano has
garnered numerous awards and nominations, and has been honored by the International Christian Film Festival as Best
Actor (2018) and Leadership in Christian Films Award (2022).
Behind the camera, Bruce made his producer/director debut in the award-winning, Alison’s Choice (2016), heralded by
Live Action News as “the most overtly pro-life film that has been created.” Most recently Bruce completed principal
photography on the upcoming Biblical epic, The Gospel According to John, currently in post-production.
Off the set, Bruce is the founder of Marchiano Ministries, a non-profit outreach ministry largely involved in South Africa
where Bruce has conducted innumerable missions and provides humanitarian aid to destitute children.
As an author, Bruce has penned several books on the person of Jesus: Jesus Yesterday, Today & Forever; Jesus Wept;
Jesus, the Man Who Loved Women; The Character of a Man; and the bestselling In the Footsteps of Jesus.
Bruce and his wife, Maria, reside in southern California along with their two children, Brooke and Shane.

who had one line in his high school play.”
