Struggling waitress and single mother Tessa Rigsby scrapes through her days, looking for an opportunity to break into her real love: interior design. After an especially hectic New Year’s Eve and too few tips, she returns home to her apartment complex only to find herself the sole witness to a domestic disturbance. Mike Coleman is a by-the-books policeman who tries to convince her to testify, but she’s reluctant to get involved. His love and admiration of her grows the more they spend time together.
